No conspiracy, no big disclosure bs, no gigantic lightship on the horizon… The answer to your question is all over the web, winking at the promo for a game.
Truth is most of the time very hard to accept.
I’m not sure where you got the idea that I thought it was some kind of conspiracy. I was just curious because usually they give explanations for their doodles. Oh, and I don’t find the truth had to accept. What’s this game? Since when does google use their doodles for promos?
Aww you got it all wrong, really. Reading your question, I thought you were familiar with it.
When the first doodle showed up, alien fanatics, doomsday-2012-is-coming-it’s-in-the-mayan-calendar loopies and conspiracy theorists filled forums and blog posts claiming it was a sign, that Google was somehow trying to give a clue to humanity that either a “major disclosure” was imminent re: ufo’s OR that indeed the long awaited (more than 25 years now) “massive lightship” that’s gonna “save Earth” was just about to appear in the skies.
To them it was nothing less than PROOF that something BIG was about to be revealed — like Jesus-is-coming-back-and-he’s-an-alien-haha-see?!
The explanation that made the whole thing fall flat is here:
Haha that’s hilarious (but so typical)…I wasn’t aware that people were taking the logo as a sign of anything! I hadn’t heard of that game before, I think it’s so cool how they’re being all mysterious and using twitter to send coded messages, I love stuff like that! Thanks for linking me to that article

My comment was more sarcastic at the doodle effect rather than aimed at you

Oh dear! You have no idea what people are tripping about! LOL That’s how reality is just SO MUCH stranger than fiction, really.
Welcome to the asylum!
